«Grozny Blues» follows the daily lives of a handful of people living in Grozny, the capital of war-torn Chechnya. The film's protagonists - human rights activists, a group of young musicians, the owner of a Blues club - are trying to survive in a divided society shaped by repression, archaic customs, Islamification and the failure to come to terms with recent history.

Bach's St. Matthew Passion, it incorporates writings from authors like Franz Kafka, Bertolt Brecht, Slavoj Žižek, and Ulrike Meinhof to question the current state of the world and the dominance of capitalism. Labhart crafts a poignant essay on contemporary fears and the frequent emergence of new conflicts, urging contemplation on potential escapes from the prevailing capitalist dynamics.

The story of Aldo Marin, a young Chilean revolutionary who went from shining shoes in Villenar to creating explosive devices for Azione Rivoluzionaria in Italy. A life that binds together the different fate of the socialist thought of the two countries throughout the Seventies.

In the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, nearly one million people were killed in just 100 days, driven by war propaganda and political incitement. This interactive road movie follows a former minister and convicted war criminal who studied in Switzerland, raising questions about his role, his education’s impact, and how the next generation confronts these crimes. Survivors share their stories at memorial sites, revealing how victims and perpetrators now coexist. The audience navigates different storylines, choosing how deeply to engage with themes of guilt and responsibility.
